LightsOut

School Curriculum.

The LightsOut Program is self-led via the online platform. Modules can be further enhanced by schools conducting personal development sessions applying the curriculum provided. The Program holds to the belief that if we can embrace death, we can live life to its fullest. By teaching young people in schools (16-20 years) the knowledge and skills about how to talk about death we aim to debunk the myths and taboo about death and build confidence for grieving openly.

The Lesson Plans assist teachers to facilitate discussion and guided reflection about the key points of the Modules, thus students need to complete the Modules either prior to class or at an agreeable time. Teachers can play a key role in adapting activities and thus pace the Program to their student’s needs; this optimizes the Program’s unique educational structure.

Teachers can create opportunities for students to be able to practice new skills learnt after the Program is completed. The teacher can also follow-up, if necessary, those who need it.

Teachers Grief Education Workshops

Grief affects learning, behaviour, relationships and wellbeing. Schools are often the first place where changes become visible, but students benefit most when grief education begins before a crisis occurs.

Death doesn't wait. Neither should you.
