LightsOut

Studies show that 100% of living beings die, yet it’s one of the hardest things to talk about.

We plan for retirement.

We insure our cars.

We teach sex-ed in schools.

But death? We wait until it’s too late.

And when someone dies – a parent, a partner, a child, a friend – we are completely unprepared. We say the wrong things. We grieve in silence. We go back to work in two weeks and pretend we’re fine.

We were never taught how to talk about death. And it’s costing us.

LightsOut exists to change the conversation – before grief arrives, and after it does.

Through our work, we give individuals, schools, and workplaces the language, the tools, and the permission to talk about death honestly.

Because the people who are most prepared for death live the most fully in life.

Teachers Grief Education Workshops

Grief affects learning, behaviour, relationships and wellbeing. Schools are often the first place where changes become visible, but students benefit most when grief education begins before a crisis occurs.

Death doesn't wait. Neither should you.
